Our school psychologists strive to facilitate family and school partnerships and interactions with community agencies to enhance academic and social–behavioral outcomes for children.

Mental and Behavioral Health Services
WISP, PLLC provides school-based psychological and behavioral evaluations that incorporate cultural, developmental, and social influences on mental and behavioral health, behavioral and emotional impacts on learning, and evidence-based strategies to promote social–emotional functioning. They are licensed to provide school-based mental health services.

Psycho-Educational Evaluations & Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE)
Our school psychologists provide psycho-educational evaluations as well as Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) for public and charter schools. Our team of experts have extensive knowledge of diverse learners and are well trained in conducting culturally responsive evaluations focused on differentiating between cultural/language differences and disabilities.

About Us
WISP, PLLC was founded by four minority women who are licensed school psychologists (LSSPs) and live in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. They are uniquely qualified specialists who value mental health, education, and individuality. They also apply their expertise, passion, knowledge, and ethical standards to provide school districts with the highest caliber educational support and assessments.

Artavia Woods
Co-Founder & School Psychologist
Artavia Woods is a Dallas native who obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University. After graduating with her Bachelor’s degree, Ms. Woods went on to work with Southwest Schools, who served students in Child Protective Services living at a residential facility.
After taking time away from school for a year, Ms. Woods went on to obtain her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Houston Baptist University, which is now Houston Christian University. She also fulfilled the requirements to become a school psychologist (LSSP). While working on her Master’s, Ms. Woods worked for Fulshear Treatment to Transition, a residential treatment and transitional living program for young adult women. First serving as a mentor, then a transition specialist before becoming a supervisor.
Currently, Ms. Woods works as a school psychologist (LSSP) conducting evaluations for special education, providing counseling services, and support to parents, teachers, and students. She has served as a school psychologist for 8 years and has worked in the Houston and Dallas area. It is Ms. Woods’ goal to one day become a bilingual school psychologist.

Erica Bryant
Co-Founder & School Psychologist
Erica Bryant has over 14 years of work experience in the mental health field with children, juveniles, and adults. Erica entered the education field 10 years ago, starting with child and youth development, and then transitioning to special education. With special education, she worked in the self-contained setting for 1 year and the resource and inclusion setting for 1 year, before transitioning to being a school psychologist. As an experienced school psychologist, Erica provides comprehensive psychological/psycho-educational evaluations and therapy for children and adolescents. She also completes Full & Individual Evaluations (FIEs) for students in the special education arena all over the state of Texas. In conjunction with her LSSP licensure, she also holds the Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) licensure.
In her free time, Erica enjoys traveling to new places and spending time with her family and friends. She has a wonderful loving husband who currently serves in the US. Army who also keeps her busy throughout the week.

Perla Almaraz-Martinez
Co-Founder & Bilingual School Psychologist
Perla was born and raised in Chicago, IL where she grew up swimming and playing water polo. Her love for water polo sent her to Los Angeles, where she obtained her B.A. in Psychology from Occidental College. After graduating, Perla went back to the Windy City where she earned her Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology. As a school psychologist, Perla has had the opportunity to work in school districts located in Alaska, California, Nevada, and Texas. Currently, Perla is licensed to work in California and Texas.
As a bilingual school psychologist in the Dallas area, Perla has spent her time conducting evaluations for students in special education in both English and Spanish for students in grades PK-12th.
Perla also has a B.S. in Cybersecurity from Utica College and has taken coding workshops from SheCodes, a company dedicated to teaching women how to code. When she is not working in the schools, Perla can be found coding, managing the WISP, PLLC website, and overseeing all technology related tasks for the company.

Precious West
Co-Founder & School Psychologist
Precious West enjoys serving families through trusting and caring relationships. Her motivation and passion stem from her desire to advocate for, empower, and educate families as they navigate the special education process. Her priority is to ensure their children benefit from a personalized and loving learning experience, regardless of their diagnosis or label.
Precious earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in School Psychology from Abilene Christian University. Throughout her tenure as a school psychologist (LSSP), Precious has evaluated and assisted in creating educational plans for children (ages 2-18) with intellectual, emotional, social, and/or behavioral differences, and assisted in the development of campus level assessment practices. Precious also has years of experience providing psychological services and behavioral support from students in grades K-12.
She strives in leaving a lasting impact on the community and the families she serves. When she is not working in the schools or giving back to the field of Psychology, Precious enjoys eating at new restaurants and traveling to new places with her husband, son, and daughter. She aspires to receive her doctoral degree in Psychology.
